The Junior League of Knoxville is proud to have partnered with Knox County Public Library, for Kids in the Kitchen during the Children's Festival of Reading event.

KITK 2016 Activites: 

  • “Go , Slow, and Whoa Foods”- A Kids Guide to Eating Right- ETCH Childhood Obesity Coalition
  • “Get Fruved!" University of Tennessee Student Coalition 
  • "Let’s Get Moving” – Zumba for Kids  with our own Kat Evans
  • Kids Iron Chef Competition” with Chef Gerry Gardner; Emcee: Alan Williams
  • “Vermicomposting  or We Dig Worms!”- Every Child Outdoors Program –UT Institute of Agriculture 

The Junior Leagues' Kids in the Kitchen initiative began with the goal of engaging kids in the preparation of healthy meals as a means to educate them and their parents regarding nutrition and healthy choices. Junior Leagues in more than 200 locations provide lessons and demonstrations related to preparation of healthy meals and snacks in partnership with local community organizations, chefs and nutritionists.
